The Florida State Fair Authority, located in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Manager for our Agribusiness department, the heart of the fair.  Ideal candidate must be a strong leader and possess outstanding communication skills. In addition, this position is required to create, develop, plan, and implement programming, policy, and procedure.  Three to five years’ experience in agriculture related field and management is required.  Volunteer management experience a plus. 

Due to the size of the department budget the ideal candidate must have sound financial skills for budgeting, analyzing, and evaluating projects and programming.  Prior experience securing sponsorship and/or fundraising a plus.

To be considered, must be familiar with all species of production livestock prevalent in Florida.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Development, coordination, and oversight of all programming related to agriculture for the Florida State Fair and AgVenture including skillathons, annual calf sale and consumer protection program.

Coordination and oversight of Animal Care and Ethics workshops throughout the state throughout the year.

Development of new marketing strategies to secure and expand funding and sponsorship of the Champion of Champions program.

Liaison between the Florida State Fair Authority and various agriculture groups, community groups and fair industry groups.

Oversight of the day to day operations of the Agribusiness department.

Must be available to work varying schedule including some nights and weekends.

Event Coordinator for Premier South Florida Fishing Tournaments


Position: Event Coordinator

Location: Deerfield Beach, FL

Job Type: Full-Time

Company Overview:

Bluewater Movements, Inc. is a sports marketing company based in South Florida that specializes in event marketing for competitive saltwater fishing.


Position Overview:

Experienced, take-charge professional with ability to manage administration and logistics in a busy special events environment.


Assist with coordination and operation of (7) fishing tournaments per year and attendance at approximately 5 industry trade shows per year.


Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, meet deadlines with minimal supervision and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends associated with scheduled events on calendar.  Travel required for 3 to 4 of the events each year, with extended stays ranging from 4 to 7 days depending on event.


The event coordinator must have a love for event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional and be able to build strong relationships with anglers, volunteers, media, sponsors and all other instrumental contacts to the business.


Event Planning Overview:


  • Ensure that important pre-event documents such as Coast Guard applications, security details, GL insurance policy renewal, etc. are completed and submitted on time.
  • Deliver editorial content and sponsor advertising pages for event publications to graphic designer. Oversee proof process for publications.
  • Magazine and poster distribution to local marine retail stores.
  • Assist with updates to event website pages.
  • Draft pre-event press releases, email blasts and social media to promote events.
  • Assist with BEO negotiations at host locations for events.
  • Work with vendors to source shirts, hats, bag samples and other promotional items for events.
  • Assist with design and layout of floor plans for events.
  • General reservations, ordering and scheduling of things like musicians, equipment
  • rentals, signage, polygraph examiners, trophies, supplies, etc.
  • Serve as liaison with vendors and sponsors on event-related matters.
  • Assist with onsite setup for events (bag stuffing, banner displays, silent auction, decorations, etc.)
  • Participate in team registrations during kickoff events.
  • Participate in score keeping during fishing days and collection of results for online scoring.
  • Liaison to media on competition days to ensure they have the results information they need for press deadlines.
  • Assist with breakdown of site location following conclusion of event.
  • Draft press release, email blast and social media posts for recap promotion of events.
  • Assist with steps necessary to issue payment to winners.
  • Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
  • Close out all events as required.



Other Tasks and Requirements:

  • Day to day office administration responsibilities such as emails, answering phones, shipping, filing, running errands, scheduling meetings, etc.
  • Ensure that all deadlines are properly met for quarterly and annual tax forms for business.
  • In physically fit condition to handle some of the lifting, moving, etc. that may occur in association with set-up or breakdown from an event.
  • Must live in the immediate area or be willing to relocate

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or significant work experience in field are preferred.
  • 3 years experience in office administration preferred.
  • 1 year + experience in event management preferred.
  • Computer Platforms– must be Mac & Windows proficient.Computer Skills - High proficiency using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches.
  • Content Management System experience
  • Social Media experience preferred.
